I am capable of working with the latest HTML standards in order to create modern layouts functional across a wide range of devices, including laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
I am well versed in CSS, SASS, and LESS, using them to create responsive layouts across all the sites I design to ensure accessibility across all device categories.
I currently work with JavaScript, JQuery, and Vue.js to create interactive page elements, interact with API's, and to create full-featured single page web applications.
I am very familiar with PHP, with a particular focus on the Laravel framework, and have extensive experience creating and maintaining online stores and SaaS solutions.
I am well versed in creating functional and efficient database layouts to meet the needs of bespoke applications, and am very familiar with multiple SQL based RDBMS's.
I am very familiar with setting up and maintaining Linux servers, having also used it on the desktop for many years, as well as following security best practices.
Since beginning work at System Potential in 2017, I have been leading development on a number of bespoke projects built around the Laravel framework, making use of Vue.js for the frontend. More recently, I have led development on a number of successful and heavily trafficked Laravel projects for clients including Co-op and Samsung, among others.
I have experience in taking projects through from conception to completion, working with clients to bring their designs and ideas to life in time and on budget.
In addition to my day job, I also spent a number of years working with a local charity, initially on an informal basis providing occasional tech support and assistance with website maintenance. I provided regular support with the use of social media, and in 2017 I was nominated to become a member of the Management Committee of the charity - a position I held until the unfortunate closure of the charity in 2020.
